About the Publication

Trill Mag is a non profit online magazine that allocates to the Gen Z demographic. The magazine consists of articles and artwork surrounding news, entertainment, culture, and other categories of content. As a graphic design intern the task at hand is designing artwork to accompany the articles. The article entitled: High Fashion Or Abuse? A Look Into How Bianca Censori “Dresses” by Sarah Keenan is about Kanye West’s second “wife” and his influence of provocative fashion on her.

To depict the artwork for the article the main focus was highlighting the notion that Kanye’s fashion choice of nudity is abusive to his girlfriend and her reputation. The official image is playful in showing a menacing depiction of the ordeal. Purple is shown in the background to convey the villainy. A big-headed Kanye is proud and gazes down at his collectible girlfriend dressed in his skin-tight design enclosed in a snow globe. Bianca does not appear content as she sulks in her vulnerability. This style of fashion is supposedly pushed on her in turn diminishing her agency of fashion choice. Behind her is a silhouette of herself dressed in a gown that accommodates her preferences. She almost blends into the background indicating that this is an inner desire never to be a reality. The image below depicts the process of constructing Censori’s gown.
