About the Publication

Trill Mag is a non profit online magazine that allocates to the Gen Z demographic. The magazine consists of articles and artwork surrounding news, entertainment, culture, and other categories of content. As a graphic design intern the task at hand is designing artwork to accompany the articles. The article entitled: Why TikTok Is Trolling Mama Owl With The ‘Brisket Song’ by Gabriela Torres is about the recent controversy of a social media influencer’s content containing alleged pedophilic material.

To depict the artwork for the article the main focus was highlighting the cancel culture the influencer is under. The media perceive her as a child predator and clown. The official image is very visual in showing the predatory nature of the influencer as her content is geared towards children and young adults. Red was the over all color scheme for the artwork. The TikTok video has layers of vile behavior and the red signifies a slate of danger on the content creator. Below are a few media items that display the backlash from the point of view of other social media influencers as this assault threatens the platform as a whole.
